Just living my life day to day!

My Crazy Work Life

Today I found a list of dates with my weight and where I worked at the time. It was an interesting read to be sure. I thought I’d share a little of it! Looking back, I’m not sure how I held down three or even two jobs at the same time! I know life was crazy and extremely busy then, but I guess it is good to have this to look back on…and to learn from.

Navigating through a digital landmine.

It seems that no matter where you look, someone is trying to sell you something, share something, show you something, inspire you, infuriate you, shame you, or make you feel less than okay.

It’s not easy living in this era with all the electronics and media choices we have.

My opinion is that it is important to not take anything you read online too seriously. People take hundreds of photos and post their best ones. Or the ones with filters. Or whatever.

People take pictures of their food, their face, their clothes, their kids, their house, their decorations, the weather, etc.

My advice is to just keep scrolling–or better yet–don’t even start! Just a few short years ago, the only advise you saw or had to deal with was whoever was in your sphere of influence! It wasn’t the whole world trying to tell you what to do or make you feel less of a person if you don’t do a specific thing.

Don’t buy into the dumbness! Keep focused on who you really are and what makes you tick. You’re not going to feel amazing every single day, and you’ll have good days and bad days and days you wish you could just never think about again. It’s okay. It’s called L*I*F*E! It’s not always pretty, but it is your life you are living. Make it whatever you are able to make it. Keep focused on what you are good at and not what you are not.

I hope you have a great day…but if not, then tomorrow brings the hope and promise of at least something different!

What is busyness to you?

Although I am now retired from a “typical” job, I find myself still busy…but differently.

If I want to stay in bed some morning that I don’t have plans, then I do. I don’t feel guilty about it. I just do it.

Keeping busy is overrated. I like my quiet time and my life without a ton of obligations. Sometimes I think we spend so much of our efforts on doing things that we forget to just enjoy the moments.

P.S. And all those moments don’t have to be captured and posted on social media!

Hello world!

It’s nice of you to stop by. I’ve had a cold for the last few days, and I’m really tired of sneezing and coughing. I was so prideful that “I haven’t had a cold all season” that it was my time to be humbled and fight the good fight. The sun is shining today, so that at least helps, and the coughing is a bit better.

Aches and pains are such a huge part of my life now that I’m older. I really did NOT appreciate my younger self. That is for sure. Now I am just thankful for the parts of my body that don’t hurt! Trying to eat healthier and move around more has helped a lot.

So, if you’re not feeling quite as good as you would like to feel, ask God to give you the strength to carry on, take your medication as prescribed, and find the joy in the little things.

“They speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty— and I will meditate on your wonderful works. ” Psalm 145:5
